Bringing 16 years in Medical Devices R&D, Citadel’s founder, John Armacost, has experience applying FEA as a useful tool in the Product Development life cycle. Various roles in Product Development (Hip Implants) and in Research (Computational Biomechanics) provided opportunities to use FEA to fuel innovation, including ten patents (nine in Medical Devices).
Citadel’s capabilities now include characterization of nonlinear material models, providing more comprehensive representations of the nonlinear behavior in elastomers and polymers, including ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). Creation of these customized material models is possible through a set of routine laboratory tests to characterize the material. The end results: more realistic and accurate FEA predictions.
